DRESS CARE

How to store and care for your wedding gown

We recommend keeping your gown safely stored in the garment bag provided and placing it in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, heat, and moisture. Avoid storing your gown in garages, sheds, or damp areas, as these environments can affect the fabric and delicate details of your dress.

If your gown is heavy, heavily beaded, or has significant detailing, use the internal hanging loops inside the gown rather than placing all the weight on the shoulder straps. This will help maintain the shape and structure of your dress.

Every month or two, we recommend briefly opening your garment bag to allow airflow and checking that your gown remains in perfect condition. Try to avoid unnecessary handling before your wedding day to keep your gown looking its best.

Closer to your wedding date, we recommend having your gown professionally steamed to ensure it is fresh, smooth, and ready for your special day.

How to care for your wedding gown after your wedding day?

To preserve the beauty and condition of your gown, we recommend having it professionally dry cleaned by a specialist wedding gown cleaner after your wedding day.

Once cleaned, your gown should be stored in a proper preservation box with acid-free tissue paper to help protect the fabric, colour, and delicate details over time.

Avoid storing your gown in plastic bags or areas exposed to heat, moisture, or direct sunlight, as these conditions can impact the quality of the fabric.

Your wedding gown is a treasured keepsake, and with the right care, it can be preserved for years to come.
